When to go on a babymoon?
It's best to avoid the first trimester of pregnancy: the expectant mother is often tired and prone to nausea: it's not the best time to enjoy a trip for two in complete peace. The second trimester is perfect for considering travel: the risk of miscarriage is limited, you've regained energy, your belly is starting to take shape but the baby remains light and you don't suffer from back pain.
The third trimester will again be contraindicated for travel. Delivery is approaching, you are not immune to the baby showing the tip of his nose a little early: it is always safer to stay close to home. Some airlines, moreover, refuse to board pregnant women after the seventh month of pregnancy , others require a medical certificate of no contraindication to travel established by your doctor.
In all cases, and whatever the stage of pregnancy, do not take any action without first consulting your gynecologist : only he or she can judge your state of health and your ability to travel . He or she will also be able to give you advice depending on the location chosen, which may require some health precautions for a future mother (food, drink, vaccinations, etc.)
Where to go on a babymoon?
France, Europe, and the world: many countries can host you for a babymoon, whether for a week or a weekend ! There are even travel agencies specializing in stays for expectant parents. Of course, there's no question of stringing together sightseeing tours or hiking at a marathon pace: think about a reasonable program that leaves time for discovery but also for rest . Many couples opt for vacations focused on relaxation : lazing around, the beach, and romantic restaurants. Islands, but also European capitals, are often popular with expectant parents.
Avoid heavy legs and walk a little.
Similarly, flying can cause poor circulation: this, already slowed down by pregnancy, can worsen at altitude. Wearing support stockings during the flight will help you prevent this problem and maintain a certain level of comfort.
If you choose a sunny destination, beware of the harmful effects of the sun . Your pregnant skin produces more melanin, which makes it more sensitive to UVA-UVB rays. Without suitable sun protection, you risk returning with a holiday souvenir you would have been happy to do without: melasma, the famous pregnancy mask , which manifests itself by the appearance of unsightly brown spots on the face, shoulders and décolleté. Remember to slip your Radiant Cream SPF 50+ into your suitcase and apply it first thing in the morning for maximum protection and hydration. You will find it in a box in our selection of gifts for pregnant women.

As for activities , you might be tempted by the spa (sauna, hammam or jacuzzi) offered by your hotel. Unfortunately, you'll have to give it a miss during pregnancy: the heat can suddenly drop blood pressure (causing discomfort) or worsen the feeling of heavy legs. Worse still, the sudden increase in body temperature can be harmful to the fetus. No risk, you can enjoy it as much as you want after giving birth!
The same applies if you indulge in a prenatal massage or a facial or body treatment: make sure that the creams and oils used are safe, particularly that they do not contain essential oils, which are harmful to the baby.
By following the usual recommendations, you can enjoy the last moments together and recharge your batteries as a couple while waiting for the arrival of your child. All that's left is for us to wish you a wonderful babymoon together!
