When to go on a babymoon?
It is better to avoid the first trimester of pregnancy: the mother-to-be is often tired and prone to nausea: this is not the best time to enjoy a trip for two with complete peace of mind. The second trimester is perfect for considering leaving: the risk of miscarriage is limited, you have regained energy, the belly is taking shape but the baby remains light and you do not suffer from back pain.
The third trimester will again be contraindicated for travel. The birth is approaching, you are not safe from baby showing up a little early: it is always safer to stay close to home. Some airlines refuse to board pregnant women after the seventh month of pregnancy , others require a medical certificate of no contraindication to travel established by your doctor.
In all cases, and whatever the stage of pregnancy, do not take any initiatives without first consulting your gynecologist : only he or she can judge your state of health and your ability to travel . He will also be able to give you advice depending on the location chosen, which may require some health precautions for a mother-to-be (food, drinks, vaccines, etc.)
Which destination for a babymoon
France, Europe, World: many countries can welcome you for a babymoon, whether for a week or a weekend ! There are even travel agencies specializing in stays for future parents. Of course, there is no question of stringing together tourist visits or hikes at a marathon pace: think about a reasonable program, which leaves time for discoveries but also for rest . Many couples opt for a vacation focused on relaxation : relaxation, beach and small romantic restaurants. The islands, but also European capitals, are often popular with future parents.
Our advice ? Ensure that sanitary conditions allow you to stay in peace and choose a destination with sufficient medical infrastructure in the surrounding area.
Avoid heavy legs and walk a little.
Likewise, flying can cause poor blood circulation: this, already slowed by pregnancy, can increase at altitude. Wearing compression stockings during the trip will allow you to prevent the problem and maintain a certain level of comfort.
If you choose a sunny destination, be careful of sun damage . Your pregnant skin produces more melanin, which makes it more sensitive to UVA-UVB rays. Without suitable sun protection, you risk coming back with a vacation memory that you would have done without: melasma, the famous pregnancy mask , which manifests itself by the appearance of unsightly brown spots on the face, shoulders and neckline. . Remember to slip your Radiant Cream SPF 50+ into your suitcase and apply it first thing in the morning for maximum protection and hydration. You will find it in a box in our selection of gifts for pregnant women.

As for activities , you may be tempted by the spa (sauna, hammam or jacuzzi) offered by your hotel. Unfortunately you will have to pass your turn during pregnancy: the heat can cause blood pressure to suddenly drop (causing discomfort) or worsen the feeling of heavy legs. More serious: the sudden increase in body temperature can be harmful to the fetus. No risks, you will enjoy it as much as you want after giving birth!
The same goes if you indulge in a pre-natal massage or a facial or body treatment: make sure the creams and oils used are safe, particularly the absence of essential oils, which are harmful to baby.
By following the usual recommendations, you can enjoy the last moments together and recharge your batteries as a couple while waiting for the arrival of your child. All that remains is for us to wish you a wonderful babymoon as a duo!
