First step: don't compare yourself!
We know well that not comparing ourselves is often easier said than done, and that it is sometimes difficult to resist that little voice in our head. However, this is perhaps one of the most important tips that we share with you for enjoying motherhood and maintaining a healthy relationship with your body.
While some will manage to regain their ideal weight quickly, it can be more complicated and longer for others. Unfortunately there are no rules and so it is better to focus on yourself and your well-being than that of others. You have just given birth and it is quite natural that this act has consequences on your body.
Social networks
Not comparing yourself also means avoiding scrolling through the profiles of “perfect mamas” and favoring those who make you feel good . This therefore involves a little spring cleaning on Instagram and your other networks! On certain subjects like breastfeeding or health, you can also think about reading articles to find out. Don't hesitate to unfollow accounts that seem too perfect to you and weigh down your morale. Instead, favor accounts of moms who seem closer to you and who don't hesitate to share the good and bad times and who show off their pregnancy pounds.
Slowly (but surely) return to sport
Whether you are sporty or not, one of the best tips for getting back into shape is physical activity. It remains a very good way to revitalize your body and feel more comfortable after your pregnancy. However, there is no point in running, you have to start in good time: the marathon is not happening right away! There needs to be a smooth return. Before (re)starting sport, it is essential to have the agreement of your doctor. Different factors will lead your practitioner to authorize you to practice sport, but in all cases it is very important to wait at least 6 weeks, the date on which you have your first postnatal appointment. During this consultation, during which your doctor will observe your perineum and your abdominal muscles, the latter will then be able to authorize you to resume a sporting activity or not, to advise you which one and how often. Even with a child, certain sports routines can be easy to integrate into your daily life.
What sports after pregnancy?
Initially, it is generally advisable to favor gentle sports such as walking, swimming, yoga or the Pilates method for a gentle recovery. On the Internet, you will easily find simple exercises to do at home. Don't hesitate to get information near you, perhaps other mothers in the postpartum phase would also like to get back into sport. Nothing better than doing a class surrounded by women who have just gone through the same thing as you to encourage you and feel more comfortable! Whenever possible, take a bicycle instead of transport to get around.
Take care of yourself
Taking responsibility for your body again also means taking the time to take care of it . This involves sport, a healthy and balanced diet, good sleep (as far as possible with baby) but also the use of appropriate cosmetics which will help you enhance your new postnatal body ! We advise you to add five minutes in the evening or morning to your beauty routine to pamper your skin. To improve the firmness of your skin and erase its small imperfections, you can use Le Baume Onctueux Raffermissant as a daily massage: your best ally for reducing cellulite as well as colored stretch marks on your body while firming your skin ! If you have a C-section scar, it will help fade it.

And let’s not forget the face and hair ladies! Indeed, these parts of your body also have the right to be pampered! We recommend L'Huile Mère-Veilleuse, a multi-function oil that you can apply all over your body, as well as on your face or your hair to nourish and enhance it. There's nothing like getting back the skin of yesteryear than practicing a real in-depth treatment from a specialist from time to time. We recommend, among other things, cryotherapy treatments which act on targeted areas and help your skin to eliminate orange peel skin and firm it . Institutes also offer postnatal massages which, in addition to helping you relax and unwind, will allow you to shape and tone your skin to give it a youthful look! If you have had an episiotomy, do not hesitate to do rehabilitation.
A top dressing room
Taking care of yourself to feel good in your body also means taking care of your wardrobe. In that regard, you don’t need to be a fashionista, don’t worry. On the contrary, choose clothes that you like and in which you feel comfortable. Don't focus on the clothes you wore pre-pregnancy, you might wear them again later or maybe not, and that doesn't matter! Why not book yourself a little shopping session in town or on the internet (mom life requires!) and take the time to choose outfits that you like. The Internet is full of mom influencers who will be sure to give you inspiration for your new wardrobe. And if you prefer in-store shopping, don't hesitate to ask for help from salespeople who can advise you on the right clothes.
Make peace with yourself
Finally, don't be too hard on yourself ! You have just given birth. Pregnancy is a wonderful stage of life that is accompanied by physical changes. Take the time to appreciate your new body and your new curves before you desperately want to change it.
