I am Audrey, co-founder of Daylily Paris. At the time I wrote this article, I was going through my 2nd pregnancy (today, I am the mother of 3 children).
I was able to observe many changes during this second pregnancy, and I tell myself that I am probably not the only one in this situation. So I wanted to share a little bit of my experience with you…
It is obvious that a pregnancy is different from one woman to another, but did you know that this also applies from one pregnancy to another? In fact, you can experience your second pregnancy completely differently compared to the first. For example, symptoms you didn't know about may appear this time, and vice versa. If you had a lot of nausea the first time, you may not have anything for this one. Or if you were in great shape during your first pregnancy until the 8th month, you may be exhausted from the very beginning and until the end. In short, so many surprises in perspective... at least you won't get tired of being pregnant!
The question we all ask ourselves is: will we be “more” or “less” lucky than the first!?
The fatigue from which you are unlikely to escape...!
One of the differences that will probably be there... Did you guess? I give it to you in a thousand words: you risk being much more tired and having less time for yourself!
In addition to your already busy life as a wife and mother, your life as a working girl or a stay-at-home mother, your eldest will not fail to remind you that he exists and that he needs you more than ever. Some of them may even begin to feel threatened by the arrival of a little baby and therefore show a bit of jealousy. Kindness will be your watchword and do not hesitate to ask your other half to relieve you of certain tasks or to spend more time with your eldest so that you can (a little) rest.

It is possible that your pretty pregnant curves will take shape much more quickly than during your first pregnancy. Your body having already experienced a pregnancy, it adapts much more quickly, your uterus returns to its former place, feeling at ease and letting your baby bump appear more quickly. This can be quite impressive and difficult to tame. For example, you may find yourself at 3 months with your 5-month belly from the first pregnancy! Ah that’s for sure, it’s surprising! It makes you wonder if there aren't twins hiding down there or if there wasn't a mistake about the date of conception...
In any case, you will have to use many stratagems if you want to keep the secret during the first 3 months. And if it falls during the summer period, good luck! You will have even more difficulty hiding your curves, so choose loose and wide clothing, your best allies!
Shape memory!
There is a good chance that you will be (a little) more relaxed and serene regarding this second pregnancy.
If during your first pregnancy, all the books on this subject held no secrets for you, it will certainly be different this time. Maybe you'll buy them anyway, but they'll be more likely to stay on the bedside table, unfinished ;-)
Regarding preparation for childbirth , are you wondering if it is worth doing it again? Well yes, don't deprive yourself of it and you can perhaps move towards new forms of courses, such as haptonomy or swimming pool preparation. And even if you end up doing the same thing again, a little reminder never hurts, you might even enjoy it more and understand certain things more!
In terms of food , there will be more or less indulgence in desires and cravings (depending on whether you had difficulty losing your first pregnancy pounds or not…), and perhaps more deviations. (or not) on dietary restrictions. On this subject, and arriving in the middle of summer, if you are in need of raw meat or sushi, know that you can go to Picard because it is a very high professional freezing for which bacteria do not survive ;) Yes, carpaccios are yours!
Already ? Really ?
It is possible that you will feel your baby moving much more quickly, around 3 and a half months of pregnancy, whereas the first time, you sometimes had to wait until the 5th month to feel it. Enjoy it, this feeling is still extremely incredible to experience!
And if it's just gurgling noises, too bad, it's funny too and you'll feel it soon enough, don't worry ;-)
Don't rest on your achievements...
Like the little hassles of pregnancy which can be different from one pregnancy to another, if you did not have stretch marks during your first pregnancy, that does not mean that you are completely safe. for this second. The same goes for the pregnancy mask! And if these “inconveniences” appeared during the first pregnancy, don’t leave feeling defeated either, and avoid making things worse with this second…
So just one key word (even if it's not necessarily easy): take the time to pamper yourself as much as possible, particularly with healthy and suitable products that will take care of your skin.
