25th to 28th week of amenorrhea / 23rd to 26th week of pregnancy
The title says it all: it's a party inside !!! Between baby making java and your organs having to make way for the invader, that's a lot of upheaval within your body!
The advantage : you now have real conversations with baby (well limited, it's true, since they consist of pressing on a place then waiting for his response... but it's so funny and cute!).
The downside : it’s all tiring, obviously! So don't hesitate to get as much rest as possible. The ideal position for restful sleep is to lie on your left side. This position facilitates venous return, and better nourishes the fetus and placenta while limiting pressure on the liver. Afterwards, each pregnant woman does as she wants... and above all as she can!
And to make it easier to sleep with that belly starting to take up space, you can get a nursing pillow, which will undoubtedly become your new nighttime companion for the next few months. In fact, it helps support your stomach and thus limits the minor ailments of pregnancy.
As everything is shaken up inside, especially the rib cage (lower ribs which move apart and the diaphragm which rises) breathing can be a little more difficult. You may become out of breath more quickly but don't worry, it's normal, especially since you are breathing for two. A few sophrology courses to free your breathing may be welcome... And the ultimate glamour: snoring can also occur. Too bad for your other half, at least it's a sign that you're sleeping, and that's a good thing you need sleep!
And to continue with the glamour: the risks of gastric reflux, bloating and heartburn are very present, even if you can get through it. The culprit: again and again this uterus which happily pushes your stomach. If it becomes too bothersome, do not hesitate to consult your doctor.
Less notable, but just as unpleasant: hemorrhoids and varicose veins, due to some disruptions in blood circulation. Again, seek advice from a healthcare professional if the pain becomes too severe.
Still linked to blood circulation, the gums can be more fragile, so pay close attention to your dental hygiene. In case of bleeding, a quick visit to the dentist may be necessary.
To limit back pain and facilitate venous return , you will need to consider putting aside high-heeled shoes (if you have not already done so) and standing up straight. This is a good thing, it will make your chest stand out beautifully. ;)
The latter may also be a little painful, even more so if it is a first pregnancy. You could even have a few flows of colostrum (the first milk with a viscous and yellowish appearance produced the first days after birth, before the "real" milk): nothing abnormal, your body as a mother-to-be is gently preparing for the 'feeding with milk !
A few contractions may also appear, but they should not be painful or regular. Otherwise, consult your doctor or midwife as this may be a sign of threatened premature birth.
A feeling of heavy legs may also be felt. Cold showers on your feet and calves can do some good, as can raising your legs a little when you're lying down. You can also opt for compression stockings, which activate micro-circulation, practice gentle physical activity (such as walking, swimming, or exercise cycling, if you feel like it and if you have the green light to your gynecologist!) and monitor your diet, favoring purple-colored fruits and vegetables, which have venotonic properties (which strengthen the veins). Gentle physical activity is beneficial from all points of view, for the mother-to-be and for the baby. And the Daylily cream against heavy legs will arrive soon, I promise!
As for stretch marks, if you haven't already done so, it's time to use Daylily Lait Fondant and/or Huile Sensorielle to help fight against the appearance of these purplish streaks which happily appear on the chest, stomach, buttocks and hips of pregnant women!

As your body has become more and more rounded over the past few weeks, the risk of the skin “cracking” is increasingly high. So, even if there are some who will not put anything on and who will not have stretch marks, and vice versa, others who will spread themselves with cream and who will still see a few small "cracks", the fact of applying massage a specific cream against stretch marks nevertheless strengthens the elasticity and suppleness of the skin . This can therefore greatly help the future mother because red stretch marks (recent), then white (well established in the epidermis) can be complicated to remove!

And baby, where is he?
At the end of the 6th month, your baby measures 33 cm and weighs around 900 g. He takes advantage of not being too cramped in his “apartment” to move around as much as possible! Result: you feel the slightest of its movements, and you spend your time observing your belly and caressing it. All his muscular commands are operational, he can yawn, put his finger in his mouth, hold the umbilical cord and, of course, tickle mom with his arm, his foot, etc. This is how he communicates with you , usually in response to stimulation from you or other people. When you press on your stomach, you also push the pressure of the amniotic fluid, which will cause it to move.
He also hears you very well: your heart, your breathing, your voice rock his daily life. He can also hear other people's voices , although somewhat more distantly. Invite your other half to talk to them too. He will thus recognize his parents more easily later. You can also stimulate or soothe him by making him hear different sounds, melodies, songs, or the gentle ringing of a pregnancy bola.
Another sense that awakens: sight ! He finally opens his eyes... but sees nothing since it's very dark in there. He is also capable of crying.
Its respiratory system continues to develop with the appearance of the bronchi.
Moreover, a surprising fact: if you see your stomach moving at regular intervals, it may be your baby who has the hiccups ! This occurs with the absorption of amniotic fluid.
On the face side, the features become ever more refined and defined, like the eyebrows. The neck begins to emerge from the trunk. His head and body are now more and more proportionate. The first lines of his hands are beginning to take shape, and his nails have grown.
He experiences his first curves, while his skeleton continues to solidify. Tooth buds also begin to appear.
He still spends a lot of time sleeping. This is how his brain is built and structured little by little: 250,000 nerve cell divisions per minute ! It sleeps but it still works!
Appointments, paperwork, etc. :
You will have your 4th medical consultation, a mandatory examination to check the proper development of the fetus and the good shape of the mother: blood pressure, weight, heart and location of the baby will be checked!
Also this month you will have to take a blood test to check for hepatitis B, unless you have already done it at the start of your pregnancy, as well as a blood count to check that everything is fine. and a test for irregular antibodies if your blood group is negative or if you have had a transfusion during your life.
And like every month, you will need to check for toxoplasmosis if you are not immunized.
You can also have a urine test prescribed to check sugar (risk of diabetes) and albumin (test for proteins, which can be a sign of hypertension, kidney abnormalities, urinary infections, etc.) . You are starting to get used to it, because in theory you have undergone quite a few examinations since the start of your pregnancy!
You can continue your preparation for childbirth if you have chosen a method that begins before the 7th month, such as sophrology, prenatal singing or even haptonomy...
From this 6th month, you can also do prenatal recognition at the town hall, which can be useful in particular for unmarried couples where the father's filiation is not automatic. However, it does not prevent the child from being recognized within 3 days of birth when registering the birth.
It may also be time (if it has not already been done) to start organizing yourself for the baby's arrival: preparing the room, first purchases of clothes, childcare items, finding a fashion daycare, maternity visit are generally on the program at the end of the second trimester or at the very beginning of the third. We trust you, it's generally a pleasure for many future parents! Because yes, you will soon enter the home stretch and expand the family, and you will not have much time left before the birth of your little one! ?
